Abstract
There has been much development of clinical application of myocutaneous flap in recent decade in the field of plastic & reconstructive surgery.

Skin grafting or skin flap has too much disadvantages, and there are some cases in which it is impossible to use those methods for reconstruction of large soft tissue defect.

Myocutaneous flap is a very useful method of treatment for such soft tissue defects, as seen in trauma, burn (esp.electric burn), pressure sore, radiation injury, and defect after cancer surgery.

From Jan. 1978 to Dec. 1980, we had expieranced 5 cases of large soft tissue defects, and 4 different myocutaneous flaps were applied for reconstruction of above cases.

The results were successful in all cases, without significant complication.
